Shine a Light

Storytelling belongs to all of us. It’s how we enlighten, educate and inspire. It’s where we find common ground and spark empathy to create needed change.

Lindsey Seavert's gift is carefully capturing your narrative with authenticity and heart so that together you can do good and make the world brighter—one story at a time.

I've been crafting stories...

from the moment I could hold a pencil. Two decades as an award-winning reporter, video producer and documentary filmmaker have taught me the infinite ways stories can shine a light and make sense of this chaotic world.

In 2020, I won the Alfred I duPont award for the documentary "Love them First Lessons from Lucy Laney Elementary." The film featured principal Mauri Melander Friestleben who was determined to beat the school’s low test score performance and take it off the failing school list. I currently live in Minneapolis with my husband and two kids.

"Love them First" Documentary

"It was such a pleasure to share your film with the Erikson community. It is incredibly moving and galvanizing. We’ve already heard from parents and teachers who are planning to share it with their school administrators. I can’t thank you enough for your generosity and vision. Thanks for making the trek to Chicago and giving us such a beautiful piece of art to share with our community."
